An IP address, which stands for Internet Protocol address, is a label given in numerical form which is only specific to your computer network or internet network. There are two functions for the use of an IP address. The first function of an IP address is to give specific location and destination of where the computer network is. The second is to host or provide a network interface.
IP addresses are commonly used as a way to provide internet connection on computers. this means there are public IP addresses which can be found wireless and private IP addresses which may required direct cable connection. When individuals connect to the internet this will have an IP address attached to the connection.
